The Cross Street Banner Program was designed by the former Madera Redevelopment Agency to assist local non-profit organizations and government agencies to promote their project, programs, and events. The City of Madera owns the hardware and performs all maintenance and installations. In agreement with the City, the Madera Chamber of Commerce provides the banner information to the public and maintains the scheduling of the program in cooperation with Pubic Works.
The banners must meet specific requirements in design, size, dimensions, etc… The graphics, location, and message are also a consideration in the approval process of a banner. Banners must promote an event/program for civic or educational purposes and that is open to the public on a non discriminatory basis. All banners are subject to approval by the City of Madera.
