Madera’s Annual Christmas Parade, where spectators can view the parade and wander through business establishments, tasting wines, or having hot beverages. Although the parade started out as a procession of tractors down Yosemite Avenue, almost any type of vehicle is now accepted, as long as it is emblazoned with at least 100 lights; children’s electric and pedal vehicles shall have a minimum of 30 lights. This event is co-sponsored by the Madera Kiwanis Club and the Madera Downtown Association. Please contact any Madera Kiwanis Club member; or the Madera Chamber of Commerce to receive a Parade Entry Form or use the link above. You can also contact Sharon Creamer at (559) 479-1513 for more information. Parade entry fee entitles entrant to a wine glass and mug. Parade spectators can also purchase a wine glass for $10 or a mug for $6 from any participating merchant or the Madera Chamber of Commerce, 120 North E Street. The wine glass entitles the person to free wines, from more than 9 wineries at downtown locations. The mug is for hot drinks, like cider or coffee (glasses & mugs frequently sell out prior to the event). LOCATION: Downtown Madera.

Senator Anthony Cannella Names Debi Bray as Woman of the Year

On August 21, 2014, Senator Anthony Cannella made a surprise announcement at the Madera Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Awards and Installation Dinner. While Senator Cannella was not able to attend the event, he sent a video announcing to a crowd of over 400 people that he had named named Debi Bray, President/CEO of the Chamber, as Woman of the Year for the 12th Senate District of the State of California. Following a standing ovation, Bray, thanked the Senator and those who have supported her during her 28 year career at the Chamber. She was presented with a proclamation by the Senate office and a red rose from her 2 year old grandson, Sawyer.
